Funcrunch Photo site update - the funcrunch files

Oct. 30th, 2010 01:16 am Funcrunch Photo site update

Just finished a long overdue overhaul of funcrunchphoto.com. Spent many hours over the last week hacking Drupal, PHP, CSS, etc. In addition to the design update, some backend changes should improve SEO, hopefully. (Adding custom meta descriptions to key pages, etc.)

Feedback welcomed; as with all sites, this is a work in progress.

Thanks so much Beth! As to the site slogan I was going to put "San Francisco Bay Area Event Photography" but that was too long to fit aesthetically, and "Bay Area" is ambiguous if someone might stumble across the site from, say, Boston. So for now I just decided to leave it at San Francisco and state throughout the site and in my marketing materials that I shoot throughout the SF Bay Area. (The three homepage sidebar photos happen to be from Sacramento, Mountain View, and Stanford, respectively, though all the concert photos in the montage were taken in SF.)

Thanks also very much for the testimonial - I will e-mail you separately about that and your dance photos once I get some rest.

Thanks John! You're the second person to comment on the font size, so I might indeed bump it up. I prefer larger fonts myself but wanted to go with the template default to start out. The template is Elements which is a port of a Wordpress theme, apparently.

I put the rates on the wedding page to emphasize that I charge more for those than for basic event shoots. I'm still working out exactly how and where to state my rates for such events though.

I don't bother obscuring my e-mail addresses anymore but thanks for the offer of the Javascript trick (I've used something like that in the past). I want to be able to put my business e-mail out in plain text wherever necessary, so I just have gotten more aggressive on spam filtering.
