Jogging around in circles can get a tad boring, so on the weekends I'm getting my exercise through geocaching. Two weeks ago I had my most ambitious quest to date, walking solo from Nob Hill down to Embarcadero Center, up to Coit Tower, and back to the Ferry Building (the last bit in pouring rain), netting five caches along the way. I took lots of pictures, so I may post more details of my adventure later.
In other "movements" - my promised capsule review of the Emanuel Ax concert (November 9). Stellar performance. I don't normally like Debussy, but the "Images for Piano, Book I" were too beautiful to resist. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Chopin Scherzos, especially the B-flat Minor Op. 31, which I have listened to frequently on an Ashkenazy recording.
My next scheduled Cal Performances event is the master violinist Itzhak Perlman in January. I may want to grab tickets to see The Hard Nut by the Mark Morris Dance Group in December though, as
