Thanks to Ziggy's brother Bill, who manages pretty much all things travel-related in Aspen, we enjoyed first- and business-class accommodations on our flights. I also had my first experience on a 777. Comfy seats and lots of legroom. We had personal TV monitors, but the flight was too short to show movies and the main features seemed to be commercials and an episode of "Frasier". I did manage to catch the tail end of a George Harrison tribute concert snippet, but mostly I just watched the map which showed information such as our location, speed, altitude, and distance to destination.
Also courtesy of Bill we got a free hotel room in town for our last night's stay, so he wouldn't have to drive us to the airport for a 7 a.m. flight. It was a cozy studio condo with a full kitchen and fireplace. We also got a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates congratulating us on our engagement. Too bad we were only there for a few hours.
Ziggy's hoping I'm getting more used to traveling. I still don't look forward to flying though, first-class or not. Traveling in general is very stressful for me. It's good to see new places occasionally, and of course to visit out-of-town friends, but for true relaxation I prefer to stay home.
