Thanksgiving - the funcrunch files

Nov. 22nd, 2007 11:14 pm Thanksgiving

Had a lovely day with boyziggy and gerardp devouring the tasty vegan feast that Ziggy and I prepared, relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Cozy evening with my sweeties much appreciated after a stressful week at work. I've had some not-great Thanksgivings in the past, but all I have to remember is that my love Ziggy proposed to me on a Thanksgiving day, which puts a smile on my face.

I got in a few photos with my new portrait lens, though I had to back up practically to the next time zone to fit anything into the shot. It's 85mm but that translates to 136 on my crop-sensor camera, and we have a pretty small apartment. Still, the 1.8 max aperture allows for great low-light shots without flash.

Sounds like a nice day.

Yeah, the 85 did sound a bit long to me. On the other hand, when you bump up to a full frame sensor, it'll be great.

It should be fine at concerts as long as I'm not right up against the stage. My apartment isn't really set up well for portraits with any kind of lens.
