Concert: Mitch Woods & His Rocket 88's

My jazz teacher from Blue Bear, Jim Peterson, often plays sax with Mitch Woods. Today I went to see them at the North Beach Festival at Washington Square Park.

I decided to bring my camera along. Security inspected bags at the gate, and didn't balk at my bulky SLR, which was good; several others were in evidence as well. I had a hard time with the contrast in lighting between the shaded stage and the bright sunlit sky. I tried a number of different settings, ending up with over 400 photos, which I narrowed down to the 80 or so I posted. I used mostly my 85mm lens, with the 17-55mm used for full-stage and crowd shots.

The band really got the crowd dancing, it was a fun set. I'm glad I finally made it to this festival, having lived just down the street from it for five years now.
