rock singing

Karaoke Sunday

Much fun at karaoke tonight with more people than I can remember hanging out there with at once outside of a birthday party. Mike F had already been there for an hour when I arrived around 5:15. I warmed up with my usual "Abacab". saffroncisco followed sometime later, then boyziggy for a brief visit with his friend Jenn, then mike20, and I sang "Holding Back the Years" somewhere in there. More arrivals: teawiththecheat and tinellaq, then shoutingboy, then elgecko and cortneyofeden. Whew!

The majority got to hear me sing Stevie Wonder's "Overjoyed" which is often my best song but I didn't quite do it the justice it deserved tonight. I did much better with "New York State of Mind" which went over well with the crowd. Mike F did amazing jobs on Teddy Pendergrass's "Love TKO" and Stevie's "Master Blaster". Mike K sang two songs I really love, Stevie's "Boogie On Reggae Woman" and Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed". I wish I could remember what everyone else sang; lots of great music to be sure. Plus lovely distracting snuggles and other diversions. ;-)

Sigh, wish I could have stayed longer, but work tomorrow awaits...
