Ziggy breakfast: Herbal tea; cereal with almond milk; pineapple
Julie lunch: Cucumber-bean-onion salad; pasta-bean-tomato casserole
Ziggy lunch: Same as above, plus black tea
Julie snacks: Whole-wheat toast with strawberry jam; hot cocoa
Ziggy snacks: Black tea; hot cocoa
Julie dinner: Pasta-bean-tomato casserole; whole-wheat bread; vitamin water
Ziggy dinner: Soup; pasta-bean-tomato casserole
Exercise for both: Approx 1 hour (slow-ish) walking in Prop 8 protest march. I did another 30 min walk getting to the start of the march.
Feelings: I felt more energized today, partly as I was looking forward to getting out of the house for the Prop 8 march. I'm amazed that I've lost four pounds at the halfway point on this diet, as that's more than I expected to lose for the entire 12-day period. Again, it might just be water weight; Ziggy lost four pounds the first day and gained two back the next. Regardless, I'm liking the food, enjoying cooking, not feeling deprived, and plan to stay the course. Ziggy isn't enjoying the diet nearly as much, and has cheated on caffeine a bit, but wants to stick it out with me till the end.
