Even though the fitness program I'm following recommends not stepping on the scale at all during this phase of the program, I couldn't resist weighing myself this morning. As I predicted might happen, I'm still at the same weight as at the end of the McDougall diet - 140 pounds. I'm reminding myself that fitness is much more than just a number on the scale. Though my diet has not been as strict, I'm convinced I'm still losing fat as my clothes fit better. Targeting a specific weight, or even clothing size, is arbitrary and only bound to leave me frustrated. I need to just focus on continuing to work out and eating a mostly lowfat vegan diet, and the body will take care of itself.
