I believe I've finally reached a good, healthy, sustainable place with my diet. I don't count portion sizes, calories, or grams of carbs/protein/fats. I don't exclude anything entirely except for animal flesh and alcohol, and those for personal rather than dietary reasons. We don't have dairy or eggs in the house, but I do have them occasionally when eating out. I eat until I'm full, and then I stop. I recognize overindulgence and know to avoid it because it feels unpleasant. If I'm hungry within a couple of hours of bedtime, I don't eat (though I may have a cup of tea).
My weight is stable and acceptable. I am at a good place with food.
Now exercise is another story... but, one battle at a time.
