What is wrong with me?? I had a lot of plans for today - I was going to go to the Cannery farmer's market, then to Veggie Fest, possibly swing by the North Beach Festival, then head to Lake Merritt for a good walk and some photo-taking, finally meeting friends to go catch a movie at the Parkway. Well after coming back from the Cannery, a hilly walk but I've done it plenty of times, I was panting and dripping with sweat. Then I did some "functional exercises" - stretches, abs, etc. - from Bob Greene's Get with the Program (a really good all-around fitness book IMHO), which the author claimed would only take "8-10 minutes". Bullshit, and I was so exhausted afterward that I wanted to go back to bed.

I got a good night's sleep last night, but I guess I have been exercising more this week than I have in a long time, so there's residual tiredness. Plus, I'm making a conscious effort to work out at a higher level of exertion, whether I walk or jog. I'm still going to the Parkway tonight - I hope I can stay awake that long. Then Stern Grove tomorrow. Can't let myself sit around playing video games all weekend anymore.
