Videos from Blue Bear summer showcase performances

Here are the videos of my performances at Cafe du Nord on September 19, as part of the Blue Bear School of Music summer showcase. These are all hosted on Facebook for now. Videography for the second set by Damon Molloy; audio editing for all songs by boyziggy.

Funcrunch Presents: Songs from Shortbus

My first set featured songs from the movie Shortbus, chosen and arranged by yours truly. I'm proud that I was able to pull this off; transcribing three of the four pieces by ear and arranging the parts for different instruments than they were originally written for was a challenge. The video quality suffered as boyziggy had to leave the camera unattended to concentrate on the audio recording.

Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby? (jazz standard)

Language (Scott Matthew)

In The End (Scott Matthew)

Soda Shop (Jay Brannan)

11th Hour

My second set was a rock/soul/R&B workshop; I sang lead on every song. The first two songs were my picks. I'm delighted that I made a couple of good friends from this experience, and hope to continue to make music with them for years to come.

Livin' For The City (Stevie Wonder)

Jazzman (Carole King)

Hard to Handle (Otis Redding)

It's Your Thing (Isley Brothers)

Would (Alice in Chains)

Whole Lotta Love (Ike and Tina Turner)

Do It Again (Steely Dan)

The Wind Cries Mary (Jimi Hendrix)

If I'm In Luck I Might Get Picked Up (Betty Davis)
