| Jun. 30th, 2012 08:47 am June fitness wrap-up, and planning for July June fitness month was a resounding success! I didn't miss a single workout, and went beyond the mileage planned. I ran 4x/week for a total of over 110 miles in June, did four stairs workouts and eight workouts with weights, stretches and crunches 4x/week, and a large amount of walking as well.
While I wasn't specifically trying to lose weight, I did lose three pounds, bringing my current weight to 121 lbs (BMI 20.8). I was trying to lose some flab around my waist, and did succeed in reducing the measurement around my navel one inch, to 30". I don't expect to shed many more pounds, if any, but I could stand to lose another inch or two of fat, while building muscle through the weightlifting.
Here's a not-great self-portrait I snapped after my final run of the month yesterday, a sunny 8-miler out to Crissy Field and back:

And here's my training plan for July. I'm not adding many more weekly running miles, but am adding more days of weights and functional exercises (stretches and crunches). I also plan to find a time to visit a track with boyziggy so we can take the President's Challenge Fitness Test.

Looking forward to getting in great shape for fall racing season! 2 notes - Make notes |

You look like you are in great shape. I wish I could say the same, been dormant for the last few months, but I have started biking (trikin'!) now and that is a very good thing.
Just make sure the crunches are funcrunches, and everything will be cool.
