Wedding photos are here!! - the funcrunch files

Oct. 18th, 2004 07:39 pm Wedding photos are here!!

Quick and dirty upload - I'll make a better web site presentation when I'm feeling better (went home sick today). Photographer did a good job; although I expected there would be more total shots, he put a lot of work into retouching.

Video editing is going to take a lot longer. I upgraded from iMovie to Final Cut Express and it's like trying to write a 600-page novel when I've never even written a short story before. I have a larger hard disk on order and once I get that (and am healthy) I will put more serious effort into learning how to use this software. There weren't many photos of the after-party concert so I'm hoping the video will make up the difference.

I liked seeing 'em, although navigation was pretty painful.

There were definitely photos that I *remember* the photographer taking of us at the party that seem to have vaporized.

P.S.: Okay to put one or more in my journal?

This photographer seemed to have the opposite philosophy of the guy who shot our first wedding; the former, Dennis, simply took the film to the lab and handed us the envelopes containing all of the prints and negatives. This guy, Mike, took three weeks to edit in Photoshop and I'm sure he eliminated any photos he didn't consider good. We should have talked with him more about this when we hired him, but I'm still pleased with the results.

Sure, they're basically public now. I do plan to improve their presentation/navigation on my site now that I'm feeling better. I also have a lot more work to do on that video...

BTW, you're also free to snag a couple from the video stills I created while waiting for the official photos:

Bemused

Giving the blessing

(You can peruse the whole directory too of course, but there's no UI whatsoever)
