Time for a userpic update? - the funcrunch files — LiveJournal

Dec. 21st, 2013 03:41 pm Time for a userpic update?

I've been using the wild-haired, bespectacled avatar as my default userpic on LiveJournal and various other places for over ten years now. I created it with the Mini-Mizer from Reasonably Clever. The full image it is cropped from is below:

Lego Julie

It occurred to me that I don't really look much like this anymore, so I thought I'd make an updated Lego avatar:

Lego Pax

What do you think? Is it worth updating a tiny thumbnail image that most people probably don't even notice? Only the head and shoulders will be visible if I crop it the same way as the first one.

The newer one does seem more like your current image.

New avatar

Love love love it! So I think you can guess my answer about whether it matters to some folks. I loved your wild-haired one the first time I saw it too. Great fun! :-)

I put on the hat because I couldn't find any hairstyles that remotely resembled mine. I do like hats and have been wearing them quite a bit outdoors, just not indoors so much.

All these Lego torsos are the same size as far as I can tell, just some have breasts as in my old avatar. ETA: And same with the arms and legs, all the same size. Maybe I should use my Bitstrips avatar from Facebook instead?

Yeah, the Bitstrips one actually looks reasonably like you.

This is my current Bitstrips profile pic; I suppose it can be used as-is:
