Last week there was a murder just a couple blocks from where I enter the park, too, at just about the time I'd be heading home. Someone shot up a car with people sleeping in it. Apparently the gunman knew at least one of them. Small comfort.
It is peaceful, regardless, to have so much space to myself. Hopefully I'll get used to going to bed by 10 and getting up at 5. I did it for years while having a 90-minute commute from El Cerrito to Candlestick Point and doing marathon training, so I can do it again.
