I ran along the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building to North Point, into Aquatic Park briefly, and back. I decided to start walk breaks again; although I've been able to run up to 10 miles continuously without them in the past, most of my long runs were done with 9 minutes running, 1 minute walking. As I was tired and feeling out of condition I tried a 5/1 split this time. It did allow me to finish the run without feeling exhausted, though my final time of 66 minutes for approx. 4.4 miles was a glacial 15 minute/mile pace. It doesn't matter; I have over two months left before the half-marathon, and I'm doing this for fitness, not for competition.
