Apples and other fruits

My Apple Cinema Display monitor is here already! I wish they could have configured and shipped the G5 that fast! I was surprised how light it was, and it comes in a flat box with a convenient handle. I'm still not dragging it home on the bus though. Fortunately we'll have a rental car tomorrow so I'll get it home then.

A co-worker just handed me a box containing the second part of my three-item shipment from Apple; the extended warranty. In contrast to the elegant monitor packaging, I'm wondering why the hell they needed to put something consisting of a few pieces of paper and a single CD (containing a utility program) into a sizable box with an inflated plastic bag for protection.

In other news, I got in a nice 45-50 minute walk yesterday after work. I wasn't planning on walking all the way home, but it was a cool day, and once I got to the halfway point I decided to just keep going. I should make an effort to walk home most days, at least until we set the clocks back in a month or so.

I'm still eating the fruits and veggies. I've decided that I absolutely love red seedless grapes. Berries in a bowl of vanilla soymilk are also really yummy (thanks to boyziggy for that suggestion). I wish I liked lettuce as much as I liked fruit, since ideally I'm supposed to be eating two pounds of greens a day (one pound raw, one pound cooked). I did have two salads and some chard yesterday though, and a large salad for lunch today. Maybe I'll have some broccoli or spinach tonight.

It feels good to be cooking and eating healthy food again. I've lost about 1 1/2 pounds since Saturday, so I'm right on track. (I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day, but it does make me feel accomplished when the scale moves in the right direction!)
